Mandarin Oriental and Stay One Degree’s joint Swiss ski trip offer
This newsletter is sponsored by Cendyn. 2022 may have just begun, but the hospitality industry is already seeing significant shifts in connecting with guests. With an unprecedented demand for digitization and automation as reduced workforce and challenges from the pandemic continue, there’s a lot going on that hoteliers need to be aware of as we move into the new year. Join Kevin and Niels from the Cendyn team this Thursday, January 27th for a webinar on the trends they are seeing for revenue, marketing, and sales in the year ahead.

This video came out a few weeks ago, but I love how it showcases the many paths into this industry - and how much opportunity hospitality holds.

Rocco Forte Hotels launches an employee listening strategy
Rocco Forte Hotels is launching a new employee engagement and happiness program across their global portfolio.
“How we succeed is as important as what we achieve. We believe it is important to treat your people, partners and suppliers as well as you treat your guests. Not only is it the fair and correct thing to do, but it also makes business sense.” - Sir Rocco Forte
The program will enable their people to give feedback whenever, and wherever they want. It provides their leaders with an ability to analyze cultural health in-depth to support the people strategy overall.
What does your employee listening strategy look like?
Mandarin Oriental, Stay One Degree partner on Swiss ski trip offer
Stay One Degree, which offers curated home rentals, is partnering with Mandarin Oriental on the Alpine Escape Experience in Switzerland to allow guests to pair a one-night stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Geneva with a week in one of Stay One Degree's chalets in Verbier.
Hotel guests will receive a resort credit to use at the property's Yakumanka restaurant, the MO Bar, and the beauty and wellness area by Bellefontaine, followed by a helicopter or limousine transfer to Verbier for a seven-night, all-inclusive ski experience at a chalet.
During their stay in Verbier, guests will receive catering, a selection of premium beverages, 24-hour in-resort driving, in-chalet ski equipment fitting, concierge service and access to ski partners to arrange additional activities, such as paragliding and private ski guiding.
Interesting to see a partnership like this between hotels and vacation rental companies. On some trips I want to stay at both types of accommodations, and there could be added value for both businesses in doing this.
